A few months ago I decided to jump into an online marketing business. I thought that it couldn't be all that difficult to make money online. The genius in me thought that I would be able to figure this marketing thing out. After all it wasn't exactly rocket science.

I've spent hours promoting my web site. I began dropping my links, and submitted my advertisements, here and there, trying to sell products to earn a commission. As the days turned to months, I was quickly getting little, or nothing for my efforts. Frustrated, and disgusted with the results that I was having, I was ready to throw in the towel.

The methods that I used to promote my business did not produce the results that I wanted to see. But just the same I kept right on doing those same things over, and over again. In order to produce the results that I desired, I had to change. Of course, to change, I had to learn a different way of doing things. That also meant that I had to be open to learning new ideas.

So for me it was right back to school learning the basics. The only problem was, I never really started there to begin with.

The most basic ideas can have a profound affect on your success. Here’s a rule that I now live by. It is a rule that is very basic, but has been very helpful with keeping me on track, and it has given me something to always shoot for.

I have discovered the importance of writing down my goals, and yes it has to be written down. If you do not write them down it might get forgotten, or lost, that translates into wasted time. A written goal on the other hand can pave the road to success, and here is how. I write down a short-term goal like this one. I want to make $100 dollars this month. I then write underneath what I need to do to achieve that goal. In this case I would have to sell X amount of products, or services to make that $100. Then I jot down the individual steps that I need to take to sell that quantity of products, or services.

Example: My Goal is to make $100 dollars this month. I need to sell 15 of this product.

Step 1: Advertise by pay per click!
Step 2: Learn how to use pay per click!
Step 3: Tell my prospects about my product. Ect…

By doing this very simple exercise you create a road map, a checklist to follow. Now we have a direct path that will lead us to accomplishing the goal that we set out for ourselves. The concept is very basic, and it works every time. As you walk through each step you come one step closer to achieving that goal. By achieving that goal you have just witnessed success.

There are more things that will need to happen before you see absolute success, but writing down your goals it is a good place to start. You may want to brush up on your online marketing skills. I found a single web site that has made it much easier for me to sell products on-line. Thanks to my new resource I am getting taught the A,B,C’s to online marketing. You see the other things that need to happen for anyone to see success is being taught the fundamentals. The fundamentals are the foundation of which everything is built on.

Not too long ago I was on the fast track to failure because of the way my mind was programmed. I had FEAR, “The Fear Of Money”. I was so afraid of losing money, the fear was stopping me from making money. This same fear is guilty, for stopping countless people, from even trying to make their vision become a reality.

I know that in this business I am not alone when it comes to fear. So if you have home business, and you experience this fear you will have to reprogram the way you think. This fear will most certainly hold you back from making your piece of the Internet’s wealth.

Instead of fearing losing money promoting your business, and products. "Concentrate more on the making money part"! The thought of making money sounds, and feels better much than the thought of losing money.

Think what steps do I need to take to sell this product, or service. How can I tell everyone about my web site. I suggest doing a little research there are many ways to attract people to a web sit. I like writing articles, using pay per click services, sending emails out with funny jokes signed with love and please visit my web site. Have faith in your products. I remember watching an NBA Basketball Game on t.v one night. The Miami Heat were playing the New Orleans Hornets. Miami was all over them yet when you looked at the score New Orleans kept pulling ahead.

Bill Walton made the comment "Don't mistake activity for achievement." I'll always remember that. Just because Miami was playing hard didn't mean they were playing smart.

This can apply to our everyday lives and more directly to our internet marketing careers. As we all work hard to make money online and make money at home you should ask yourself this question everyday, "Is what I'm doing right now going to help me make move my business forward?"

I am as guilty of this as anyone. I check my email over and over clicking on the send/recieve button looking for new messages that say something like "Congratulations You Have Made Another Sale."

It is so easy to constantly log into a program and check my stats over and over. What's the point? If they do change it isn't enough to even merit the time it takes to do it over and over.

How about this one. Reading posts in forums until your eyes are blurry. That's o.k if you are involved and making some posts as well. You might as well get your link out there and posting is a great way to learn something as well as do that. But you have to post once in awhile too.

Here's the key to getting yourself past the activity mode and into the achievement mode.

Write down 5 specific things you want to accomplish everyday to help you make money on the internet. Here is an example of this.

1. Make 5 new posts in forums
2. Trade links with 5 quality websites
3. Submit my article to 5 article websites
4. Place my ad in 5 free classified sites
5. Call 5 of my home business prospects

Now what is the key to these 5 things on my list? Well for starters they are written down. Next it is an advertising and marketing driven list.

If you aren't spending 80-90% of your time on advertising and marketing your home business then you have no right to complain when you aren't making any money. It is that simple.

You have to write down action items for the day and the majority of those action items have to be doing something to advertise and market your business.

Every one of us has different amounts of time we can spend everyday working to make money online. It isn't how much time you spend, but how you spend it that will determine your long term success.

I’m writing this article because I thought you might want to know my formula for success for my online business. This sounds very simple and yet, it might change your whole mindset. It applies when you are building your own online business. Throughout my journey to achieve success, I’ve encountered many people who struggled to achieve success online. Most of them ask me questions like, ‘how to achieve success’.

Or questions like, ‘how to make more money from the internet’.

What’s the formula to achieve online success?

Ok, read on and I’ll reveal it.

The formula is simple. When you are working, you must have in mind that ultimately what you want to achieve from your online business is this:

Work less, earn more.

But first, you must understand this formula in order to achieve that.

Here’s the formula:

Assuming you are working 8 hours a day, and you are getting X result (X can be any amount of money you are getting now.)

Where most people failed to achieve success is, they try to earn X + Y (Y can be any amount of extra money you want to get) without finding a way to work less first. In another words, finding a way to work less while still getting X result.

In order for you to get Y result, you should find ways to work less than 8 hours first and still be getting X result. Let’s say 6 hours.

Once you able to achieve that, only then can you consider how to find ways to get Y result.

In a nutshell,

First step:

Work 8 hours (or whatever your existing working hours are) and get X result.

Second step:

Find ways to work 6 hours and still get X result.

Third step:

Work 8 hours again but get X + Y results.

Once you achieve this, your next step is to find ways on how to achieve X + Y results by working only 6 hours instead of 8 hours. Once you find that, only than you can think about getting Z result (Z can be any amount of extra money you want to have).

So, repeat the whole process:

First step:

Work 8 hours get X + Y results.

Second step:

Find ways to work 6 hours and still get X + Y results.

Third step:

Work 8 hours again but get X + Y + Z results.

Keep on repeating this process until you get the maximum results you can get (this can be A+B+C+X+Y+Z).

At some stage, you’ll probably reach the optimum of getting the results and you can hardly earn more by working 8 hours a day.

Once you achieve this, congratulations.

Now, what you need to do is to find ways to WORK LESS but still get the same results.

So at the end, you’ll be able to WORK LESS And EARN MORE.

People fail to achieve online success because they don’t know or understand this simple formula and practice it!

This formula stressed managing your fundamentals before engaging yourself to earn more. People failed to achieve more results because they try to earn more without learning how to maintain and work
less first. So, they’ll end up working more hours each day.

That’s why, you can see many people becoming more stressed when their business increases.

I’ve been practicing this formula. Each day when I work, I’ll look into my existing business and find ways to reduce the work. Once I got that, only then I’ll think on how to make more money.

So, each month, I’m making more money but working less or putting the same amount of time invested. This is how you can achieve success without getting more stress in life.

What you should be doing now is go look at your job or business and apply this formula if you want to achieve success in the long term.
